To meet the US EPA 453/F-94-025
Regulation Controlling Emissions from Dry Cleaners,
it is recommended that plant operators measure the
concentration of PERC in the Exhaust stack of the carbon
absorber once a week to confirm that the carbon
adsorber is removing the PERC and not allowing it to
escape into the atmosphere via the exhaust. Measurements
should be taken during the last aeration cycle using a
colorimetric Draeger Perchloroethylene detector tubes.
